Steve Thurston lived with his wife (and later, kids) for 13 years in Buckingham before moving about six blocks into Arlington Forest. A journalism professor at Montgomery College in Rockville, Md., he has written the Buckingham HeraldTrib since 2006 (originally at a blogspot site). Earlier, he published the short-lived, bilingual newspaper, "The Buckingham Independent News." He has worked for the Sun Gazette and the Arlington Connection newpapers, in Arlington and Fairfax counties, and the Common Denominator in Washington, D.C., along with papers, TV stations and PR firms elsewhere in the country. |

The chart shows total population, not total number of schoolkids. You're right about income levels, though. I suppose I was assuming that given that Arlington is so expensive to move into, they must be rich. But that might not really be the case. It'll be fun to see what the census discovers. Thanks for reading. --Steve

Thanks! The one comment I didn't respond to in my "Your Comments" story was yours in which you said you didn't like how you had to read to the end of the BYB story in order to find out what happened. I'll admit that I was trying something different, trying for a classic "story" style like that in fiction writing. That you read to the end to find out what happened actually made me happy; that you didn't like the trip, bothers me a bit. I'll admit that, given that you read, I'm calling it a moral victory if nothing else!
